unbelievable

the bears got Jay Cutler!! i can't believe it. i was listening to espn radio on my way home from work yesterday and right when i turned it on i heard "more reaction to come from a former Bear" then a commercial...i paused and i was like, what the hell just happened? i quickly looked at my phone and went to espn.com and there it was "Cutler to Chicago"

i was ecstatic. since i was 5 years old, the bears have never had a quarterback like this. i've waited, and waited, and waited....draft after draft. i vaguely remember jim mcmahon. i remember watching jim harbaugh and leaving chicago and then going to the pro bowl. erik kramer...decent quarterback. shane matthews and jim miller...we finally made the playoffs, but because of our defense. chris chandler...old and injury prone. kordell stewart...out of his prime and old. drafting rex grossman....some hope at least bc he was the highest draft pick for the bears at QB. jonathan quinn....absolutely horrible. rex grossman starting...rollercoaster ride, sick of him after the 2nd half of the season...just couldn't stand to watch games anymore. brian griese...hot and cold. kyle orton...manages games and defense wins games yet again. the list can go on and on.

you can argue both ways about jay cutler. the bears did give up 2 first round draft picks this year and next, but common. the draft is 7 rounds long and most of the meat comes in the later rounds and the bears still have a total of 7 picks. and they can still get a 1st round pick if they want to execute another trade. my suggestion, pick up free agent torry holt this year, TO next year, and draft a yound WR this year in the draft. the bears defense will always be there. jay cutler will be on a team that has a defense. thats the bears bread and butter. we have a great running back in forte and the bears receivers will now get that much better because the QB is what makes the receivers good. Cutler is a proven talent in just his first 2 years in the NFL and i cannot wait for the season to start. finally, i can watch the bears offense and not turn my back to the TV. what a great move for the city of Chicago. i would officially mark this day as one of the greatest for Chicago since Jordan came out of retirement back in 1995.
